Local_News_Photo_Corning_Observer_-_2014-02-18_10.02.05Khrystie Shoemaker – owner of Corning Sweets has lived in Corning since 1988. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Ted, since 1993 and has two wonderful children – Michael and Kaylee. Khrystie had been making cake balls since 2011 and started by selling them to family, friends, and co-workers. The cake ball hobby became so popular; she thought the next step would be to open a store front. So in September of 2013, she opened a store front in Corning. Khrystie and Ted have their doors open Monday – Friday, noon – 6pm and Saturdays noon – 4pm. They specialize in making and selling cake balls (which they are the only storefront in Northern California to sell cake balls) but they also add new items on a weekly bases, including 21 flavors of Salt Water Taffy, including sugar free, fudge, cupcakes, popcorn, etc. In addition to sweets, they have a huge selection of candy wrapper bags, purses, clutches, coin purses, head bands, and bracelets. They have many gift baskets and gifts at several different price points to choose from.
